I've worked in trade book publishing for almost thirty years and am a highly experienced editor and managing editor. Past in-house roles include Head of Editorial Management at Faber & Faber and Publishing Manager at DK Books.
I work across fiction and non-fiction, black-and-white and illustrated books. I'm an Advanced Professional Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.
As well as editing and proofreading, I train new and aspiring editors and run editorial workshops for authors. I also write: my non-fiction is published by DK and Hodder Wayland. I completed the Faber Academy six-month Writing a Novel course in 2017.
I love languages. I studied French and Italian at the University of Oxford and have lived and worked in Paris and also Marseilles, one of my favourite places in the world. I now live in Kent. I'm a mum to three teenagers and in my spare time enjoy getting out into the countryside. I can be found on LinkedIn and also Bluesky: @annadavidson.bsky.social.
A. K. Davidson started writing poetry in 2022. Since then, her work has appeared in magazines from Good Housekeeping to Pennine Platform, and her poetry on invisible illness has been adopted as a resource for primary care medical students. She published her debut collection Poetry for Life and Other Chronic Conditions (Straw Hat) in 2024. Her follow-up collection came out earlier this year: Poetry for Loving Life: Energizing Short Poems. You can find her work in progress on Instagram, where she posts weekly as @mondayispoetry.
