This poetry sharing was the very best end to an amazing year of poetry and connection.
My first ever live radio interview! I talked to Mel Everett on BBC radio to raise awareness of Long Covid.
Spotted! I'm a big fan of libraries (who isn't?) and I love seeing my book on the shelf.
Exploring the world of self-publishing this year after so long working in traditional publishing has been fascinating. I really enjoyed being interviewed by Howard Lovy of the Alliance of Independent Authors for their 'Inspirational Authors' series and discussing how the two worlds compare. We also talked about the differences between editing and writing.
It was an absolute honour to be interviewed by Gez Medinger on his YouTube channel. A scientific journalist and film-maker, Gez has been doing amazing work since 2020 interviewing expert medics and scientists to draw out and expedite treatments and help for 'long haulers'. Apparently my collection has now made him see the point of poetry. Result.
Find my feature on poetry & the power of community in the August edition of Good Housekeeping magazine.
I wrote a piece for Stylist Magazine about the power of poetry, language & connection.
I launched my poetry collection last week at the June meeting of Word Up!, a fantastic open mic event local to me. It felt amazing to celebrate publication with friends old and new, all brought together through the power of spoken word.
You can hear me talk about my book and poetry writing on the latest episode of Living With Long Covid. Nurse Julie Taylor was on the frontline during the Covid pandemic and continues to help people via her podcast. Out now on all platforms.
I’m the guest in the May ‘Everyday Words’ newsletter over on Substack. It was so interesting talking to host Sarah Salway – about poetry, the power of language for healing, invisible illnesses, exhaling and more.
